GLITCH / STITCH / RESIST
A Research-Creation Salon
2026
In collaboration with the University of Toronto's Centre for Culture and Technology
Co-sponsored by the Creative Labour and Critical Futures cluster and the Faculty of Information
EVENT DESCRIPTION
GLITCH / STITCH / RESIST: A Research Creation Salon was an interdisciplinary culture and technology-focused symposium event sponsored by the Centre for Culture and Technology, Creative Labour and Critical Futures Cluster, and Faculty of Information at the University of Toronto. In light of the growing legitimization of practice-based research methods (artistic research, research-creation, performance research, auto-ethnography) across departments within and beyond the university, this Salon gave attendees the opportunity to be in conversation and in community with fellow research-creation practitioners and collectively reflect on the diverse ways they are being applied across disciplinary contexts. Hosted on St. George campus on February 26th and 27th, 2026, its events included a community dreaming workshop, networking opportunities, a keynote presentation, and panels for graduate students to share works in progress. This Salon was created by Dr. Camille Intson (Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, CLTA, Faculty of Information) and co-convened by Intson and Dr. Carina Guzman (Postdoctoral Fellow, Creative Labour and Critical Futures Cluster, Department of Arts, Media, and Culture). Our Salon Archive of Praxis, including a full schedule and roster of presenters, can be accessed via the CLCF Blog.
